Geodesy Action Week

Already in the run-up to the Geodesy Action Week, which will take place from July 13 to 21, 2023, the Geodetic Institute visited the Otto Hahn Gymnasium in Karlsruhe. In cooperation with other institutions of the Karlsruhe surveying landscape, interested students were shown the wide-ranging job description, work opportunities, and training paths in surveying. Another event of the action alliance is planned for July 18, 2023 at the Lessing-Gymnasium in Karlsruhe. There, surveying instruments such as levels, total stations and laser scanners but also surveying drones will be presented in addition.

In a separate event, the GIK will invite visitors to its own premises on July 17, 2023: At the workshop "The world in your hand", interested people will be introduced to the world of satellite navigation, mapping of the earth's surface and coordinates using a smartphone app. The workshop begins at 2:00 p.m. in the Jordan Lecture Hall (ground floor) of Architecture Building 20.40 at Englerstrasse 7 in Karlsruhe. Registration is not necessary.
